• Read the Concepts of Bioinformatics and take notes. The material will give you a short and concise introduction to the field of Bioinformatics. Since you have taken AP Biology, you might want to review any relevant info in AP Bio as needed. Then, you are encouraged to go further and move onto the next task.
• Bioinformatics Methods I, Coursera.  Sign up the Coursera for accessing many high-quality, free online course materials. Start this free course at your own pace to pick up the basics across the broad spectrum of Bioinformatics. You can build up the foundation of Bioinformatics in a practical way by following this course and the following one: Bioinformatics Methods II along the way working on your project. The more and faster you can pick up, the easier for you to understand and handle many issues in your project.
